World Heart Day was celebrated at Jaiprakash Hospital Rourkela yesterday by the JP Cardiac Science Department on September 29, 2023. This year’s theme for the World Heart Day is “Use Heart, Know Heart.” This helps us talk about the importance of a healthy heart. We can utilize this day to recognize the importance of a healthy heart and how can we maintain a healthy heart. World Heart Day is a reminder to take care of the heart. Cardiovascular disease is the world’s number one reason for death.
This World Heart Day program held at Dhanwantri Hall of Jaiprakash Hospital began with an introductory note by Dr D K Mishra CEO of JP Hospital. He said that heart health is to be taken care of by all age groups. Dr. Trilochan Agarwala H.O.D JP Cardiac Science Department & Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist opined that your heart is like your home and one must ensure it is maintained properly. He also laid emphasis that tests like ECG or TMT may or may not be a clear indication of heart disease and further diagnosis may be required under the guidance of a cardiac consultant. Dr. Md. Wahid Sultan the Senior JP CTVS Surgeon also spoke on the occasion and explained the importance of a healthy heart and cardio thoracic vascular health.
Dr.Debasish Patnaik Medical Superintendent of Jaiprakash Hospital said that every cardiac patient should be aware of the basic symptoms of heart problems and should take advantage of the “golden period” to increase the survival rate and timely treatment. Dr.Sumona Paul Senior Consultant Critical Care wished everyone on this important day advising everyone not to ignore any heart health issues and to incorporate some physical exercises to strengthen the heart. Others present at this event were Dr Sipun Dash Consultant Critical Care, Dr. Samrajini Ganguly Cardiac Anesthetist, Dr.Nishu Bansal Consultant Pediatrician, Dr Debendra Sha Consultant Pediatrician among others.
On this occasion of World Heart Day, an appreciation certificate was also given to all the team members of the JP Cardiac Science Department for their invaluable contribution & dedicated work ethics under the guidance of Dr Trilochan Agarwala H.O.D making JP Hospital the best cardiac unit in the entire region and the most preferred destination for any cardiac patients where doctors are available on round-the-clock basis to undertake any emergency cardiac cases. The entire program was hosted by Ms Anju Jaiswal of the JP Digital Communication Department in coordination with the JP T & D Department.
