Serious & unconscious young girl from Chattishgarh, given new life by JP Pediatric Specialist

The availability of a well-equipped JP PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) has been saving many lives of pediatric patients of not only Western Odisha but also of patients from neighboring states like Chattisgarh & Jharkhand. Recently a young girl from Pharsabahar Block of Jaspur District Chattisgarh was admitted to JP Hospital under JP Specialist Pediatric Consultant Dr.Nishu Bansal, in a very serious condition.

She was referred to better equipped JP Hospital, Rourkela from a Sundergarh Hospital where she was treated for jaundice and received a blood transfusion also, which did not help her much. As her condition further deteriorated, her parents were advised to take her outside for treatment and they came to JP Hospital.

After initial assessment & thorough investigation by Dr.Nishu Bansal, who also has expertise in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & is also a Pediatric Liver Transplant Physician, this young girl was found to be suffering from MODS (Multi Organ Dysfunction Syndrome) with septic shock. Her lungs had severe pneumonia. Kidney & liver functions were shut down and her consciousness was deteriorating. She was immediately shifted to JP PICU & intensive management was started. After 5 days of critical support & care the patient started improving clinically under the watchful eyes of Dr.Nishu Bansal.
