World Hand Hygiene Day was celebrated at JP Hospital, Rourkela on May 05, 2023, at JP Amphitheatre. This day is observed on the 5th of May every year to create awareness about the significance of hand hygiene for preventing the spread of infection and promoting good health for all.
The theme of this year for World Hand Hygiene Day is “Together, we can accelerate action to prevent infections and antimicrobial resistance in health care and build a culture of safety and quality in which hand hygiene improvement is given high priority.” The focus this year is to cultivate actions toward hygiene that will further reduce the risk of infections, etc.
The World Hand Hygiene Day celebration was marked by multiple activities at JP Infection Control Department under the guidance of Dr. Indu Biswal H.O.D – Infection Control and Infection Control Nurse Ms. Karishma Sahoo.
Poster-making competitions, quizzes, skits, and dances related to various infection control measures were held and participated by employees of JP Hospital, and winners were awarded prizes & certificates of appreciation from higher officials of JP Hospital.
