Patients with serious & complicated uterus problems treated by JP Gynaecologist

There are many gynaecological-related problems faced by females for which treatment may not be available at their place of residence due to the unavailability of quality medical facilities & services. However, females of Rourkela & Western Odisha can be assured about this as JP Obs & Gynae department is fully equipped with the presence of experienced specialists to take care of this.

Very recently a 45 years old female patient from the Bamra area, suffering from a two-year-old uterus problem came to JP Hospital, Rourkela for treatment. Before coming here the patient had visited many hospitals & nursing homes in Sambalpur, Burla etc. Along with an enlarged uterus, the patient also had heart problems due to which doctors did not want to take undue risk. The patient even went to Bhubaneswar as well as Bangalore for treatment but it did not help her. Finally, she decided to come to JP Hospital where she was admitted under Dr. Piyush Bansal Consultant Gynaecologist.

Initially, the patient was assessed by a team of JP doctors comprising Consultant Gynaecologist Dr. Piyush Bansal (who has experience of dealing with complicated cases like this, having done his MD from AIIMS, New Delhi, and believes in a team effort in managing such cases), Consultant Cardiologist Dr. R Pradeep Kumar ( Former Asst. Professor – CMC Vellore) and Consultant Cardiac Anesthetist Dr. Samarajni Ganguly ( Former Consultant Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai ). The team diagnosed the patient as suffering from fibroid uterus, anaemia and heart problems, which made this case complicated and risky. But the patient & her family members imposed full faith on the doctors for her treatment.

Since the patient had low haemoglobin, two units of blood were transfused before preparing her for surgical intervention. After all pre-operative evaluation and getting cardiac clearance, the patient underwent surgery for uterus removal with minimum blood loss and an uneventful post-operative period.

The patient started recovering gradually and was able to resume her normal day-to-day activities within two days and was discharged under stable conditions. The patient says “ I got a new life at JP Hospital which has the best medical facilities comparable with the best. Thanks to Dr.Piyush Bansal Sir for treating me when many refused
