New Team Takes Charge of JP Hospital Employee’s Welfare Association (JEWA)

JEWA has more than 800 members.
JEWA is registered under the Societies Registration Act (No.XXI of 1860)
JEWA was formed On May 6, 2019, to take up welfare measures for the employees and the society as a whole.


The new governing body has taken charge of Jaiprakash Hospital & Research Centre Employees’ Welfare Association (JEWA), an initiative of Dr.Chandan Bansal Managing Director JP Hospitals, w.e.f May’2022. The Governing Body of JEWA chosen by the general body members is for a duration of 3 years. After completion of 3 years, a new team is formed to take forward the association’s work for the next 3 years period.

The governing body of JEWA comprises the President; Vice-President; General Secretary; Joint Secretary; Treasurer; and Executive Members to carry out the functions & operations of JEWA.

The team has Dr. Debendra Kumar Mishra ( CEO-JP Hospital) as President; Mrs. Rupa Banchor as the new Vice President replacing Mr. Sanjib Pattnaik, Mr. Swaroop Kumar Rout as the new General Secretary replacing Mr. Sanjay K Sahuliyar, Ms. Sashmita Pradhan as new JointSecretary replacing Mr. Jitendra Sahoo & Mr. Mehul Kanani as new Treasurer. Executive members comprise Ms. Swapna Rani Jena, Ms.Rima Rani Panda, Mr. Manas Barik, Ms. Moushumi Pattnaik, Mr. Raghuveer Singh, Ms. Karishma Sahoo, Ms. Bijayani Pradhan, Mrs. Bidyabhasini Das, Mr. Biswaranjan Dash , Ms. Suman Maharana, Mr. Hardeep Singh etc.

JEWA carries out, organizes, and has been involved with many events and functions, along with many social activities for the last three years. Major among them was Cultural Programs, Lucky Draw, and a Grand Fete held in Dec’2021 under the title “SAMARPAN 2021” at JP Hospital’s premises, where different type of stalls were put up like Food Stalls, GameStalls, Display Stalls, etc. for the general public and was a grand success. Recently Nursing Day Celebration was held at JP Convention Centre, where all nursing heads & in-charges from hospitals of Rourkela & adjoining areas were felicitated. Also, JEWA has adopted an Upper Primary School of Farsatola, Dandiapali, Rourkela for upgrading their basic amenities. JEWA recently provided a drinking water tank along with ceiling fans for students of this school during one of the hottest seasons ever. It has also organized many Free HealthCheck-up camps.

JEWA has many more developmental projects lined up for the society in coming days with an aim to improve the quality of life and help the needy, in whatever way possible.
