Surgeons’ Club of Rourkela organized their Mid-term State Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India( ASI), yesterday April 23, 2023, at JP Convention Centre, JP Hospital Rourkela. The theme of this Mid-term conference was “Share & Inspire” for the surgeons of Odisha.
This event by the Surgeon’s Club of Rourkela and coordinated by Dr. Biswajit Mohapatra Chairman Organizing Committee along with Dr. Siddharth Mishra Secretary Organizing Committee & Dr.Debasish Patnaik Chairman Workshop Committee initiated a very novel concept to organize this conference where the senior surgeons shared their real-time professional and clinical experience for the next generation of surgeons with a vision to build a better & more effective surgeons’ pool for the society, with a holistic approach.
The program kicked off with the watering of plants – symbolizing a greener & healthier world – and session-wise sharing of their experience by surgeons touching upon topics like Overcoming Adversities, Self & Patient Centred Care, Ethical, and Mentorship & Leadership.
There was also an interactive session where attendees, especially the PG and DNB students interacted with speakers and gained an abundance of new insights & concepts about surgeries.
This mid-term conference was attended by surgeons from across the state including Dr. G B Bal President of ASI Odisha, Dr.S S Sutar Secretary of ASI Odisha, Dr.Srijoy Patnaik from the Academic Committee, Prof. Dr. J Mishra Vice President of ASI along with Prof. B B Mishra, Prof. M R Sahoo, Dr. C R Das, and Dr. K K Panigrahi from State Advisory Board. From Team ASI Rourkela Dr. A G Samal, Dr. B N Sarkar, Dr.Sanjay Samal, Dr. S R Hota, Dr. S Kabisatpathy, Dr. R C Henbrum, Dr. P C Jena, Dr. M K Panigrahi, Dr. J R Sahoo, Dr. P C Mohapatra, and Dr. S K Bansal were present among others. Dr.Chandan Bansal Managing Director of JP Hospital also graced the occasion and was felicitated by the ASI.
