Ltd., Rourkela has been successfully awarded a Certificate of Accreditation for NABL, the first Lab in the Western Odisha region to do so. This JP Department of Lab Medicine is headed by Dr. Suchitra Sahoo MD along with Dr. Indu Biswal, MD and Dr. Suchitra Mishra, MD and a team of specialist lab technicians. This JP Lab is one of the most well-equipped labs in Odisha.
NABL which stands for National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories and is provided to a Lab following the standard ISO 15189:2012 – “ Medical laboratories – Requirement for quality and competence” for its facilities in the field of quality Medical Testing.
This is the second major accreditation for JP Hospital, after getting accreditation for NABH. Now JP Hospital has both the major quality accreditation – NABH & NABL – a major achievement for a two-and-a-half years old healthcare provider. Benefits of NABL for the people are Assurance of genuine reports from accurately calibrated testing; Confidence in personnel performing tests; Elimination of the need for re-testing thereby saving money & time; Satisfaction from the services provided.
NABL is an autonomous body under the guidance of the Dept. Of Science & Technology, Govt. of India and is a Constituent Board of Quality Council of India. The JP Lab Medicine Department has the following sections: Clinical Chemistry which performs a wide variety of tests using the most current technology; Hematology which is the study of blood, blood morphology and blood diseases; Microbiology; Transfusion Services; Immunology& Serology; Surgical Pathology; Cytology: Clinical Pathology etc.
Report of many in-house clinical investigations in JP Lab is provided on the same day under normal circumstances.
